Connor McDavid entered the NHL as a rookie during the 2015-2016 season. Considered a generational talent he was the no doubt first overall pick by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. McDavid had a very impressive rookie campaign culminating in winning the Calder Memorial Trophy as the NHL’s Rookie of the Year. Averaging more than a point per game over 45 games played, he scored 16 goals and 32 assists for a total of 48 points. Since that time he’s become one of the league’s most dominant players and is widely regarded as one of the best players in the world.
As a prolific skater that stands out every shift he plays, Connor McDavid’s graded rookie cards have become about as collectible as any athlete in the world. Few would argue that Connor has belongs with the likes of Sydney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin on NHL’s current players Mount Rushmore. Very few players in hockey history have had the speed, skill and vision that McDavid possesses which makes him a very rare talent.
